The distal tibiotarsi of a series of cranes (Grus: Gruidae) including an extinct Bermudan species Storrs Olson and I are redescribing. L to R: Extinct Bermuda crane (Grus latipes), Sandhill crane (G. canadensis), Whooping crane (G. americana), White-naped crane (G. vipio), Demoiselle crane (Anthropoides virgo), Extinct Cuban crane (G. cubensis). These sketches were intended to highlight the shape and size of the supratendinal bridge, which I picked out in ink. Scale = 10 mm.
